Zermatt cut off

Zermatt was cut off from the yesterday as the avalanche danger closed the rail and road links to the resort and heavy snow prevented helicopter flights.
Hundreds of holidaymakers were turned away from the railway station and told they could not leave the resort until the avalanche danger subsided.
