Meribel - The Picturesque Heart Of The Trois Vallées

The middle resort of the Trois Vallées, Méribel retains its traditional charm with attractive wooden chalet-style buildings. Shops, bars and restaurants are plentiful and lively. Mottaret (approximately 3km above Méribel Centre) is smaller and purpose-built with excellent access to the slopes. Down the hill from Méribel Centre are the villages of Les Allues, Nantgerel, Le Raffort and Chandon. Further on to Méribel Village, the ‘original’ village.

With an unrivalled amount of skiing and boarding (600km), the Trois Vallées is a magnificent ski area suitable for all levels. From the main lift station you can climb either side of the valley by gondola and find yourself either at Saulire admiring the view down to Courchevel, or at La Tougnete with its access to Val Thorens and Les Menuires.

Après-ski In Meribel

Le Rond Point is a popular and lively bar with regular live bands, large terrace and is on the run home.

Jacks bar is amongst a few bars not far from the main Chaudanne lifts and in the centre of the resort try La Taverne, Scotts, Le Pub (live music) and the Barometer.  Dicks Tea Bar is a short walk from the resort centre and is open until the early hours.

There is a wide choice of restaurants in the resort including Le Refuge and Flambee (local specialities), the Taverne (large and diverse menu).  Bar snacks are on offer at Scotts, Jacks and the Taverne.  More expensive options include Chez Kiki and Les Enfants Terribles both of which good reports and reputations.

The Olympic Centre hosts top-level ice hockey matches and has a swimming pool, climbing wall and bowling alley. The Centre also offers a gym, saunas, jacuzzis, massage and relaxation rooms.

Once a week there is a market selling clothes, cheeses, meats and gifts.  There are also many boutiques and shops (clothing, equipment, food and gifts).

We had a great holiday. We were very pleased with the apartment and would seriously think of renting it again next year if it were available. Great location and nicely furbished. Thank you very much for making our holiday possible - no other agent was prepared to even consider investigating the possibility of a holiday from Wed to Wed.
