Paraglider Caught on Brevent Cable

A tandem paraglider managed to get caught on the main cable for the Brevent telepherique lift in Chamonix on Sunday, fortunately neither the pilot or passenger were hurt in the incident.

The pair took off just after midday and after a steep rise in altitude, the pilot managed to make a navigational error which ended with the main wing wrapping itself around the Brevent lift cable.
The mountain rescue team were quick to respond and airlifted two members of their team onto the cable to safely descend the parapenting pair.
