New lift to link Avoriaz & Morzine

The new lift will replace a lift that was installed over 50 years ago and will double the number of people that can be taken per hour.

The Prodains téléphérique that links Morzine in the Prodains Valley to Avoriaz is finally being replaced.

The new lift will have 14 large cabins that can each hold 35 people. It will be able to take up to 2,400 people per hour which is more than double the current capacity.

The 1,538m long lift will rise 575 vertical metres and travel at 7m per second and the new lift will open in December 2012.
