This ski chalet is wonderfully positioned both for easy access to skiing / snowboarding and to the Train Rouge Chalet Grand Pares is a six bedroomed catered chalet on two floors situated opposite the cable car station at Le Fornet, Val d'Isere. There are two en-suite bedrooms with bathrooms, two en-suite bedrooms with showers. The remaining two bedrooms each have a separate bathroom and a separate w.c. There is a dining room with open plan kitchen and a separate lounge.
"Grand Pares" is local patois meaning "steep slope" which refers to the mountain to the rear of the chalet. Entrance to the chalet in the winter is on the ground floor via the garage / boot room, complete with boot warmer (there is usually too much snow in winter to be able to use the front door!). From the dining room, which has a large south-facing balcony, there is a spectacular view of the Le Fornet cable car and Le Foret piste (very black!).
This ski chalet is wonderfully positioned both for easy access to skiing / snowboarding and to the Train Rouge, the efficient bus service one uses to get around Val d'Isere when not skiing.
